Quick answer
The short version
SIDF 2026 was a one-day festival that included workshops during the day, performances, THE SAUCE battles, and salsa socials at night. There are 4,002 field photos remaining in the official album. Check it out for yourself through the participants’ facial expressions and stage density, not just promotional phrases.
The reason why I opened 4,002 photos while trying to choose only 10 photos
Event reviews are usually similar. It was hot, it was happy, and it said it was looking forward to the next one. The problem is that it is difficult to know just from those words how big the scene was, whether there was room for beginners to join in, and whether people really enjoyed it until the end.
So, for this review, I used photos instead of adjectives. Battle 249 sheets, live concert 182 sheets, artist introduction 302 sheets, performance 1,773 sheets, social 1,064 sheets, workshop 432 sheets.
A total of 4,002 sheets.
Learn during the day, and at night, the dance you just learned comes to life.
The fun of SIDF lies not only in the large number of programs. The rhythm learned during the daytime workshop can be heard better when watching a performance, and the expressions seen on stage lead to small attempts on the social floor.
Class, viewing, and participation are interconnected within the day instead of being played separately. This trend is also why people who say, ‘I can’t dance yet, so I’ll just watch the performance’ are catching the beat at night.
The best shot wasn't the perfect pose
If you look through the photos for a long time, there are scenes that catch your eye more than the fancy costumes or great technology. The moment you meet your partner for the first time and laugh at the same time when the timing is right, the moment you continue to check your movements even after holding a water bottle at the end of the workshop, and the moment you approach your opponent first after the battle is over.
If it were a festival where only good dancers could shine, there would not have been 4,002 photos like this.
A good festival doesn't just leave behind sights. After returning home, I leave you with the following movement: ‘I want to dance again, too.’
If you're waiting for 2027, pick your scene from the photos first.
If you are moved by the workshop photos, you can look at the pass with a lot of learning schedule first, and if you are more interested in social photos, you can look at the option focusing on the night program first. If you like the tension of battles, check out THE SAUCE guide, and if you like performances and live music, check out the full program.
You don't have to try to do everything right at the festival.
The most realistic way to start is to choose one scene that you want to stay in for a long time.
